Mesa Verde National Park, established in 1906 is located in Southwest Colorado, USA. It was created to preserve the cliff dwellings and the heritage of the Ancestral Pueblo people. The Park includes over 4,500 archeological sites of which 600 are the cliff dwellings. In 1978 Mesa Verde NP was declared a World Heritage Site.
